Our Care Services
Care services is at the heart of everything ALS United of Georgia does.
At every stage of the disease, there are resources and services available through ALS United of Georgia. From equipment rental and transportation to respite care and financial assistance, families can access the support they need. And, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, these programs are offered free of cost.
ALS United of Georgia offers the following services:
Care Services Coordinators
Care Services Coordinators help families navigate their ALS diagnosis by assessing needs, helping families plan, recommending equipment, and connecting them with local resources.

Support Groups
Connect in-person or virtually with other people living with ALS, family members, friends, and caregivers who understand what you are experiencing.
The Kostiuk ALS Care Grant Program
The Care Grant Program provides financial support for equipment, medical care, and services that are not covered by insurance.
The Paul B. Williams ALS Transportation Program
The Paul B. Williams ALS Transportation Program offers non-emergency transportation, accessible van rentals, and other transportation resources, giving people living with ALS the freedom that comes from being able to get out of the house.
The Sally Panfel In-Home Care & Respite Program
Caring for someone living with ALS is hard. The Sally Panfel In-Home Care & Respite Program makes it a little bit easier by providing short-term in-home custodial care.
The Ricky P. Sweat ALS Equipment Loan & Assistive Technology Program
The Ricky P. Sweat ALS Equipment Loan & Assistive Technology Program lends mobility and communication equipment not covered by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance to Georgians living with ALS to help them maintain their independence.
ALS Multi-Disciplinary Centers and Clinics
ALS United of Georgia is honored to partner with the Emory ALS Center, the Augusta University ALS Clinic, and Atrium Health Navicent Macon ALS Clinic to serve the needs of Georgians living with ALS receiving treatment at these facilities.
